DETAILS

TitleUniversal shunt, single dial Date1882 - 1917Object No.99.77Physical descriptionInstrument, electrical. Housed in wooden box. Large movable dial on top of centrally mounted brass shaft with pointer attached. A circular scale with logarithmically scaled markings, from "1" on the right, running anticlockwise to "10,000", then "0" on the left, corresponding to brass contactors protruding from the inside of the box.
Three terminals at the back with cone-shaped bases and thumb-nuts at the tops for connecting wires, marked G1T1 on the left and G2 on the right.
Gold stripe around the edges of the top of the box.
