Object No.88.14Inscriptions & marks‘Cable Staton / 1882 / Designed by the colonial architect James Barnet for the Eastern Extension Australasia and China Telegraph Company which operated a cable service between New Zealand and New South Wales until 1917. This building was conserved in 1988 with funding from the New South Wales Bicentennial Council.’
The bottom of the sign bears the lyrebird logo of the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, which managed the La Perouse Museum from 1988 to 2017. DimensionsH: 880mm
