The letter was received in France on June 12th, 1789. This letter evoques a continuous written correspondance between La Perouse and the recipient, as he mentions the latest letter sent from his previous stop in Kamtchatka. The letter gives indications on his encounter and communication with the British at Botany Bay regarding other explorations currently being undertaken by the British in Haiti.
