Two rows of 5 two-storey Victorian terraces built in c. 1886. They were built for William Mears (1821-1889), a buisnessman who moved to sydney from Bathurst after retiring in 1874, and who occupied number 2.
Francis Amy, a builder, occupied a separate dwelling on site from 1886-1888, possibly showing he was the builder of the terraces.
From 1887, Number 10 was used as a co-ed private school conducted by Thomas and Julia Smith, called 'Brighton College', but relocated a year later to Alison Road, retaining the name.
