A Two storey Gothic Revival style mansion, constructed of stone in 1853, and designed by the Colonial Architect Mortimer Lewis and Oswald H. Lewis. The land was part of a grant of 200 acres to Alexander Arthur, a politician and buisnessman, in 1851 by Governor Fitzroy. When it was built, its grand entry foyer was set on the eastern side and opened up to views of Wedding Cake Island and its surrounding 80 acres of pasture land.
