Superintendents Cottage

A sandstone Victorian regency style, designed in 1863 by Canadian born architect John Horbury Hunt. Constructed in 1867, the Cottage was home to Superintendents of the Asylum for Destitute Children. The unique complex of buildings across the site later operated as a military hospital and repatriation hospital during the early twentieth century. The complex was then transferred to the ownership of Prince of Wales Hospital.
