A sandstone cenotaph, flanked by two cannons and commemorative planting, with plaques dedicated to those from the Malabar and Matraville district who died in war. Designed and completed by Mr W. T. Wills, the president of Malabar RSL at the time. The two 42-punded muzzle-loading cannons were cast in 1843 and were formerly part of the Fort Macquarie Battery at Bennelong Point, they were then located to Coogee where they fell to disrepair until 1982, where Malabar RSL restored and relocated them. The monument was originally situated in front of Malabar Shopping Centre before its relocation to the Bob Clarke Memorial Reserve, dedicated by Randwick Council in memory of Bob Clarke a President, Treasurer and Life Member of Malabar RSL.
