Christo the Artist Sculpture

Situated between the Prince Henry Centre and The Coast Chapel, this bronze sculpture celebrates the 1969 art installation of the 'Wrapped Coast' by Christo and Jeanne-Claude. It overlooks part of the 2.4km coastline which was wrapped in erosion-control fabric with 56.3 km of polypropylene rope. Facing the coast, the structure shows what the landscaped looked like when the installation was there. On the reverse, facing east, are quotes and a brass relief of Christo and Jeanne-Claude.
