Replica of an old Cotswold Milestone from England, gifted to the Randwick Scout Group, New South Wales, from the Scouts of the Stroud and Tetbury District, Gloucestershire, England in 1939. The stone was quarried from Minchinhampton Common, the same stone used as the building material for the St Johns Church in Randwick, England. Simeon Pearce, the founder of Randwick, N.S.W., named the area after his birthplace in England, and built the St Judes Church taking influence from St Johns Church. The stone was presented to the Scouts group in return for gifts given to the Scout district in England. It marks the thirtieth anniversary of scouting in England, and the 21st anniversary of scouting in Randwick.
