Small concrete monument situated at the base of a tree, with a bronze plaque dedicated to the memory of George William and Ada Margaret Howe. The Howe's were pioneers of Yarra Bay, establishing the Yarra Bay Pleasure Grounds, alongside William Rose, which opened in 1901. It was a picnic and recreational facility which had stables, a boatshed, refreshment rooms, and camping huts to stay in. The improving Tram Networks allowed easy access and travel to the area, increasing it's popularity. However usage declined because of the Depression, with the facilities used as homes for the unemployed. It was demolished in the 1960s.
