A semi-circle of large stone blocks, with one closest to the footpath bearing a bronze plaque, marks this historic site where Captain Phillip first landed in Australia. Originally declared a park in 1988 to commemorate the bicentenary of white settlement in Australia, the area had fallen into disuse and was used as a dumping ground for several years. In response, Randwick Council undertook a major landscaping and bush regeneration project, restoring the area. The park was officially opened to the public on 22 April, 2007, as a revitalized community space.
