If it's difficult for you to get your bearings using the landmarks, it's because the photo is back to front. In this photo, High Street and the sheds and grassy area of Randwick Racecourse are on the right of the photo. If the photo were the right way, they would be on the left. The nook or corner bit of Coogee Beach is at the south end in this photo but in reality it's at the north end of the beach.
