Randwick consists of 13 suburbs some which were formed during the early years of European settlement. Several suburbs such as Maroubra and Coogee take their name from derivations of local languages of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait peoples. To date, over 70 place and street names reflect our rich Indigenous culture.
