Full titleArmy vehicles training at Yarra Bay (5/5)Date22nd March 1966DescriptionTraining for Army Amphibian vehicles at Yarra Bay looking west. 6 Vehicles at around 4pm lined up to depart the beach to go back to the Randwick Army Depot, with local indigenous children running alongside the vehicles. The base was transferred to woolwich and the army did not return to yarra for regular training. Once or twice a year durin the 1980s, vehicles would come ashore at frenchmans beach at La Perouse as a conclusion of a journey for training from a base across botany bay, and would return via the road systems.
