La Perouse Aboriginal Elder Colleen Cawood has picked up a Deadly Award for helping the local Aboriginal community to battle lifestyle diseases and make healthier living choices. The Aboriginal Health Education Officer at Prince of Wales Hospital said she was in shock after winning a Deadly, a community award that celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in the fields of health, arts and entertainment, sport and community. Ms Cawood, 62, has lived in La Perouse all her life and devoted 17 years to the Prince of Wales Hospital. p. 12
