'Clean up Constitution'

Prominent Indigenous activist Professor Patrick Dodson has called on the Federal Government to "remove sections of the constitution that are offensive" to Australia's original inhabitants. A keynote speaker at last week's Indigenous Policy and Dialogue Conference at the University of NSW, Prof Dodson, said Julia Gillard's plan to formally recognise the country's Indigenous people in the constitution was an important step in Indigenous and nonIndigenous relations. p. 18
