For years the crisis in accommodation that confronted the British Migrants that arrived at the Bunnerong Migrant Hostel has remained untold. By September 1953 it had reached crisis point and Randwick Council called a public meeting to seek a resolution for its newest residents. Many of the British children that arrived with their families, full of hope for the start of a new life in Australia, have rallied to again ask Randwick Council for assistance. This research has been undertaken to make known the story of the British Migrant Hostel at Heffron Park. This is their story.
