TitleMild steel fence spearheadDate2021About this objectThis mild steel fence spearhead was made in the style of the Laperouse Monument spearhead, following the original fencing design from c. 1864. Object No.2021.4Physical descriptionMade of mild steel, this spearhead is in dull bronze colour, and features a rounded top point and a circular band at the base, where the head can fit onto the paling using a screw. It was hand cast and was shaped following the original fencing design from around 1864, but the point was rounded for safety concerns.
There are some pitting and holes on one side of the circular band and the lower part of the diamond head, likely from the casting process. CreatorClassic Cast IronDimensionsH: 23cm
