Object No.2022.2Physical descriptionThis untitled painting by La Perouse Elder Uncle Keith Stewart features fish, platypus and four handprints against a background of hatching and stripes at different angles and different colours. Two of the handprints are formed by white spray and surrounded with circles of white dots and brown dots. The other two handprints are formed by brown paint flecks. The fish is decorated with strips and dots along its head, back and tail in white, yellow, ochre and pink on brown. The patterns in its belly resemble intestines and internal organs. The platypus is decorated with dots and lines in red, white and yellow on brown. Painted with acrylic on board, the work is mounted with a beige fabric mat and framed in a black frame with no glass.
